The hardest part when we are getting beat up on every side is stopping and remembering that we need to trust in God.

I don’t know about you but when I am going through trials I spend a lot of my time worrying and trying to figure out the purpose of why God has me going through it. God wants us to breathe and trust in Him.

What does that mean when it comes to marriage?

Marriage is hard and knowing and excepting that you are going to have hard times and bad times seems to come with the territory in marriage. But when you are blending and you feel as if you have the kids, exes, old in-laws, new in-laws and everything else in between trying to break you apart THAT is when you need to go to God. Each day you wake up and just do the next right thing and make sure you and your spouse are on the same page.

You MUST believe that God is bigger.

You MUST remind each other that God is working the situation out.

You MUST believe that God will prevail.

To start getting at each other’s throats and working against your spouse is a surefire way to start heading to divorce. You both must pray that God continues to soften your hearts to one another. Looking at your spouse and wanting them to be happy and wanting to compromise with them is a beautiful and healthy relationship.

Where is your belief? Do you believe that God will work in you and your marriage? Do you believe that your marriage will be healed? If you don’t believe that then that is where you need to start.

It’s not about – “well if my spouse would compromise then I would know that our marriage would work” That is not believing in the power of God. If you don’t believe and know that God will strengthen your marriage – through the storms, through the tribulations, through the trials then you need to pray for a change of your heart.

“God’s immeasurable greatness of his power is toward us who believe. The greatness of his power is immeasurable and it’s available to us through faith. Imagine all you can accomplish since the power of God is at work in you. No evil can stop that.”

Ephesians 1:19-21
